Welcome to the Women in Data Science Purdue University 2019 (WiDS) Conference!
The second year of WiDS at Purdue, this global conference on March 4 is held in conjunction with WiDS at Stanford University, as well as with many other entities around the world.
WiDS (Greater Lafayette @ Purdue) is an independent event organized by Anna Subramaniam and Dimple Dhawan to coincide with the annual Global Women in Data Science (WiDS) Conference held at Stanford University and an estimated 150+ locations worldwide. All genders are invited to attend WiDS regional events, which features outstanding women doing outstanding work.
At Purdue, our goal is to help build a community focused on data science and to inspire and raise awareness among students and community members about the opportunities in the data science field for women.
This year, we have an exciting lineup of keynote, talks by distinguished faculty, a workshop session, a panel discussion on Data Ethics, and poster presentations by students. In conjunction with dozens of other WiDS events worldwide, we will livestream some of the Stanford events, which, hopefully, will make for a unique and collaborative conference experience. Thanks to our sponsors, we are able to bring this free event to our community here at Purdue.
We hope you will register and join us!
The daylong conference went 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. in the Burton Morgan Center (MRGN) 121 and was open free to Purdue University students, faculty, staff, and individuals in industry who work in data science. Registration was required. Breakfast, lunch, and a networking reception were available (please list any dietary restrictions via the registration form).
